O capítulo do livro em questão realiza uma revisão bibliográfica com o objetivo de examinar os novos arranjos familiares e oferecer uma perspectiva sobre os diversos tipos de família, além de investigar os impactos dos estigmas sociais na saúde mental de famílias não tradicionais. Esse estudo considera as mudanças significativas no conceito de família ocorridas nas últimas décadas, refletindo transformações nos contextos sociais, culturais e legais. Tais mudanças têm desafiado os papéis tradicionais de gênero e sexualidade, resultando na crescente visibilidade e emergência de famílias não tradicionais. No entanto, essas novas configurações familiares frequentemente enfrentam estigmatização e exclusão social, manifestando-se por meio de discriminação, preconceito e falta de aceitação. A revisão bibliográfica foi realizada entre junho e agosto de 2024, com a busca de artigos nas bases de dados Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS), Periódicos da Capes e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). Os critérios de inclusão abrangeram artigos publicados nos últimos seis anos (2019-2024), acessíveis gratuitamente e integralmente em inglês, português e espanhol. Foram excluídos artigos incompletos, literatura cinzenta, como capítulos de livros e trabalhos em anais, além de duplicados e aqueles não diretamente relacionados ao tema. Dos 51 artigos inicialmente identificados, apenas 7 foram considerados pertinentes para a revisão final, destacando a seletividade e o rigor na seleção dos materiais analisados.

ABSTRACT:
The book chapter in question carries out a literature review with the aim of examining new family arrangements and offering a perspective on the various types of family, as well as investigating the impact of social stigmas on the mental health of non-traditional families. This study considers the significant changes in the concept of family that have occurred in recent decades, reflecting transformations in social, cultural and legal contexts. These changes have challenged traditional gender and sexuality roles, resulting in the growing visibility and emergence of non-traditional families. However, these new family configurations often face stigmatization and social exclusion, manifested through discrimination, prejudice and lack of acceptance. The literature review was carried out between June and August 2024, searching for articles in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), Capes Periódicos and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) databases. The inclusion criteria included articles published in the last five years (2019-2024), accessible free of charge and entirely in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Incomplete articles, gray literature such as book chapters and papers in proceedings, duplicates and those not directly related to the topic were excluded. Of the 51 articles initially identified, only 7 were considered relevant for the final review, highlighting the selectivity and rigor in the selection of the materials analyzed.
